Dr Cristina Penasco

Biography:

Dr Cristina Peñasco is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) at the University of Cambridge (UK) since May 2017. She joined POLIS from the Institute of Public Policies and Goods (IPP) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) where she was a Postdoctoral Researcher since February 2015. Before that, she was a Junior Researcher also at IPP where she was awarded with a competitive PhD grant. In 2014 she was a Visiting Researcher at the Energy Economics Group (EEG) of the Institute of Energy Systems and Electrical Drives—Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien). She has been also an Assistant Professor at the Business Economics Department in Carlos III University in Madrid from 2015.

Dr Peñasco holds a PhD. in Economics and an M.Sc in Research in Economics and Business. Besides, she has a strong background on statistical and quantitative methods of analysis and econometric techniques. Her research interests are environmental economics, public policies and technological innovation in green technologies, with a focus on renewable energy sources.

Cristina Peñasco has published several articles in world-class journals such as Technological and Economic Development of the Economy, Energy Policy or Business Strategy and the Environment among others. She has participated in European-funded projects on renewable energy support schemes in the EU as well as in a range of Spanish funded projects.
