Research Interests

One of the greatest challenges humanity currently faces is how to feed the growing global population. Many food crops are dependent on pollination. My current work looks at how we support the beneficial insects that pollinate these crops. I'm working with farmers to establish whether bees have the nesting resources and food that they require in different agricultural habitats including field margins and hedgerows. My results will be used to improve farming policies and guidance, increase bee populations and therefore the pollination services that they provide, ultimately securing future food production.
