Research Interests

My research focuses on commercial real estate and office markets in particular. It examines the dynamics of office markets in global cities and the inter-linkage between commercial real estate investment, occupation and finance that both shapes large cities and links them to global capital and financial markets, with implications for economic stability and the future prospects of those cities and their inhabitants. The growth and complexity of global real estate investment pose challenges for regulators, city managers and investors. An additional dimension, developing through work with the World Economic Forum, is the role of real estate in the sustainability and resilience of cities, bringing together city mayors and managers, investors, developers and occupiers to recognise the key importance of commercial real estate decisions in the future of cities.
